“I see all of the album’s characters and stories so vividly in my mind. If people get anywhere close to how I see it, I’d be delighted.”
The new single ‘Strangers and Angels’ feels as if you’ve chanced upon an unforgettable set during a bar crawl down Frenchman Street in New Orleans. It’s a fictional tale of a couple who share an infatuation when they perform in a school play together, but their love goes unspoken until they meet again years later. But there’s a deeper truth in this poetic narrative: “Find love and you never let it go because life is shorter than you’re ever going to know.”
Matt adds, “I feel like ‘Strangers and Angels’ is both a warning and a celebration at the same time. If you love somebody, you’d better tell them because they might love you too, and you might be missing out on a life together.”
Beyond ‘Strangers and Angels’ and the title track, the ‘Sit Back Down Again’ album is full of what Matt describes as “barroom romances, tour stories, tales of friendship and loss, and attempts at escapism in dark times.” The album is available to pre-save HERE.
